Misha it is a long and shitty story:
NM is an:
- ex ISSF rifle shooter(silver medal 50 m rifle at Barcelona 1992 Olympics and several euro and world championship medals).
- ex Police general responsible for shooting training in the police - at least we know why policemen can not shoot
- ex member of Parliament
- still an ISSF federation vice-president - numerous scandals, tax evasion and other money related issues - almost managed to get ISSF federation closed by the government...we are yet to see what is going on - but with our corrupt legal system and government nothing is certain.
Since the state has invested a lot of money in ISSF for decades, she believes there is money in the shooting sport to be made(stolen) and views IPSC as a possible contender(esp range privatization --- out of numerous outside state build ranges only 2 or 3 survive as shooting ranges). As a police general she blocked by all means the IPSC in Bulgaria, including anonymous signals and phony investigations(in the beginning she claimed we train terrorists
). In the past she was involved in numerous "money and property" related scandals. At present she is under investigation for money mismanagement and tax crimes in the ISSF federation but she is still actively going against IPSC in media. She is also in war with our most successful ISSF shooters(T.Kiriakov and M.Grozdeva) which prompted threats from the Min.Sport to revoke the ISSF license and create a new ISSF federation in Bulgaria. The story of her Olympic medals(only 1 silver 20 years ago actually ) is constantly reiterated in the media and she is still able to publish bullshit in the third rate media(most of the local press). How such a person manages to cover the scandals and still get interviews could be a huge mystery for a foreigner - a possible explanation is that local press(like most of the country) is owned by ex cops or intel collaborators. She continues to openly speak that ISSF is the ONLY shooting authority and IPSC should be banned.
In the past there were suspicions (never proved) that she was influencing members of the former IPSC Bulgaria management to delay our license application for more than 2 years.
I guess that nobody wants to play with shit and thus IPSC Bulgaria has taken a "wait her to die" approach but she is still kicking and throwing shit on us and may be it is time for some action.
